Our client was required to demonstrate to a Fortune 500 Top 10 organization prospective client that they were running a mission-critical web application inside a fully redundant and geographically robust Azure cloud architecture. This was one of the requirements. Our client came to us with a tight deadline: they needed a working solution in just two weeks. But the previous consultant they had hired had not been able to deliver on this promise.

We utilized two FortiGates in an active/active HA configuration while virtual server load balancing was used to complete the Azure infrastructure build-out. A disaster recovery system was also implemented, and it used Azure's ASR (Azure Site Recovery) to facilitate failover from one region to another using VNET peering.
